Skandium Eco Townhouse at London Design Festival

One of the highlights from our visit to London Design Festival 2018 was the Skandium Eco Townhouse. This four storey terrace in South Kensington was transformed with a curated selection of Scandinavian design products, all with a level of sustainable and ethical commitment.

Skandium, a London-based retailer that specialises in Scandinavian design, brought together select brands to illustrate that ethical design can be vibrant, colourful and captivating. Their ethical design criteria encompassed sustainably sourced materials, responsible manufacturing and corporate responsibility initiatives.

Furniture, lighting and accessories from Skandium’s catalogue were displayed throughout the townhouse, labelled with their individual stories of sustainability. The vibrant colour palette is a departure from what we know as traditional Scandi style. Instead it reflects the current interiors trend for bold uplifting palettes.

“For interiors, responsible and ethical design is quality design – it has longevity. Unfortunately there’s so much that’s disposable in our society. Skandium set the bar high with this inspirational, livable eco home.”
