In this advanced course, designed specifically for Interior Designers, Decorators, Colour Consultants and Architects, you will extend your knowledge of colour theory to discover exciting new ways to create dynamic and sophisticated colour schemes. Venture deeper into the exciting world of materials, finishes and sustainability for both residential and commercial environments. You’ll explore interior, exterior, heritage colour and finishes palettes considering aspects of light, location, surroundings and architectural style.
This accredited course explores how colour trends are predicted globally and are used across a range of areas from branding and fashion to interiors. You will be introduced to new ideas on colour from aspirational public spaces around the world and explore the latest colour and finishes trends being used in commercial spaces, such as education, health and hospitality. Become a Colour Specialist and produce professional specifications and renders.

This vocational short course is written and developed by industry professionals to ensure our students study the most relevant and current content. The competency in this course is accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the national regulator for Australia’s vocational education and training sector.
You can credit this competency towards the Diploma of Interior Design or Advanced Diploma of Interior Design.

Do I need any experience?
Previous colour experience is required for this course. If you have not studied the foundations of colour or worked with colour in your work you can meet this requirement by completing;
- A foundations of colour workshop
- Certificate IV in Interior Decoration at Sydney Design School or Interior Design Online
- Certificate IV in Design at Interior Design Online
- Colour for Interiors online course at our partner school Interior Design Online
