What you’ll learn

Spend a fun day in our studios and step into the shoes of a real Interior Designer, designing a dream loft space for a celebrity of your choice. You’ll imagine their lifestyle and turn your ideas into a genuine design concept, working through the same process professional designers use, from developing a mood board and sketching layouts to choosing materials and finishes, and finally bringing your finished look to life in 3D.

Design an interior loft space

Get hands-on and plan your loft space from the ground up. Create a considered colour palette, select furniture and finishes, and pull it all together into a unique space designed around your celebrity client’s lifestyle and personality.

Model a space in 3D

Work in 3D and bring your ideas to life for your New York celebrity loft space experimenting with layout, furniture and finishes until your design feels just right.

Live a day in the life

Understand what it actually takes to become an Interior Designer, and what an average day on the job really looks like, beyond the glossy magazine pages. Hear firsthand about the skills that matter most and the pathways into a career in design.

Do you have a creative teen who’s passionate about design? Designer for a Day is the perfect way for them to explore that passion, build new skills and have fun alongside other like-minded creatives, in a safe, supportive environment led by industry professionals.

It’s also a great first step towards a future career. The course gives your teen a genuine taste of our accredited career pathways, including our Certificate III in Design Fundamentals and Diploma of Interior Design, so they can start exploring where their creativity could take them.

Frequently asked questions

Who can attend the workshop?

The workshop is designed for high school students in Years 10, 11 and 12 who are curious about a career in interior design.

How long is the workshop and what does it cost?

The workshop runs from 9.30am – 4pm and costs $99 including GST, covering the full day on campus and all workshop materials.

Do I need any design experience to join?

No. The workshop is designed for curious beginners, no prior design experience is necessary.

How often does the workshop run?

We run the Designer for a Day Workshop twice a year in the school holidays, and places are limited, so early booking is recommended.

Is parent or guardian consent required?

Yes. Students under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign their enrolment form.

Can I buy this workshop as a gift?

Yes. A Designer for a Day place can be purchased as a gift card, perfect for a curious young creative in your life.
