Revit for Interiors

Develop your skills and extend your career opportunities with this practical course designed for creative professionals. Revit is quickly becoming the industry standard for Architects and Interior Designers. In this course we will introduce you to the powerful tools that define this user-friendly software.
You will learn how to navigate the Revit environment and use tools to place components such as walls, windows and doors. You will explore the complexities of wall materials and their layering.
You will integrate CAD drawings into the Revit workflow, master BIM techniques (including methods of annotation) and learn how to extract useful information from your drawings. As a working project, you will transform a large two story industrial space into an art gallery including ceilings, floors and furniture.

- Starting an architectural model
- Walls and wall properties
- Placing components; doors and windows
- Floors, roofs and roof types
- Advanced wall techniques and curtain walls
- Model in place components
- Custom families
- Annotations including text, dimensions and markers
- Schedules and legends
- Sharing and printing your drawings
Is this course accredited?
On completion of this course you’ll receive a Statement of Attainment from Sydney Design School (RTO 91446) detailing the competency you have achieved. This vocational short course is written and developed by industry professionals to ensure our students study the most relevant and current content. The competency in this course is accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the national regulator for Australia’s vocational education and training sector.
You can credit this competency towards the Diploma of Interior Design or Advanced Diploma of Interior Design.
What equipment and software do I need?
On campus classes are delivered on a PC in our computer lab, all students will need a laptop or desktop computer to complete their homework. We recommend students use a PC as this computer is compatible with the software taught in this course. If you choose to use a MAC you will need to purchase and install Windows to run Revit.
Your computer will need a dedicated graphics card. Read more about our Computer Requirements here. You will need to download a free student subscription to Revit to complete the course. Access to this subscription can be gained using your course confirmation.
Is this right for me?
This is a practical and fast-paced course suited to Designers with an understanding of basic construction. This course has been designed for Interior Decorators and Designers, Architects, Draftspeople, Builders, Landscape Architects, students studying architecture or interiors and those working in the construction industry.
