What does the course cover?
This comprehensive qualification starts with the basics and gradually builds your skills and confidence. You’ll begin with the elements and principles of design, before exploring the inspiring world of colour and drawing.
We’ll teach you how to develop interior schemes and plan kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living spaces. For your final Major Project you will take a brief from a real client and present a fully resolved interior scheme for their home.

We’re offering a limited number of partially subsidised courses to eligible and passionate creatives living or working in NSW. This training is funded by the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled program.

Total Course Fee: AUD $8,290 (GST free)
Deposit: AUD $820 (GST free)
Note: A 2% PayPal processing fee will be applied at checkout (GST inc).
You can pay in monthly instalments via Ezidebit.
Note: You will also need to purchase a Design Kit AUD $660 (GST inc) prior to your course start date. This will be shipped free internationally. You will need to cover the cost of any GST, customs or duty that may be charged by your local authority. Please allow AUD $50 per term for incidental costs eg. photocopying.
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course, just bring your passion for design.
To study with us live online you will need a strong command of the English language (verbal, written and comprehension) and, if required by our team, be able to score at least 6 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test here or an equivalent.
If our team have concerns, we will be in contact with you by telephone to assess your English language proficiency, prior to an enrolment confirmation being sent. If your application is not successful due to your language ability your payment will be refunded in full.
Can I apply for credit?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgement of a person’s competency, skills and knowledge which may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and/or informal learning.
Sydney Design School offers applicants the opportunity to apply for RPL and gain credit towards their course. There is a fee associated with an RPL application, please speak to our Course Advisor for more information.
Credit Transfer
Sydney Design School offers a Credit Transfer to any applicant who provides suitable evidence that they have successfully completed a unit or module at any Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
