You’ll use the latest 2D drawing and 3D modelling software to bring your visions to life. Explore global design trends and create stunning interiors for homes, cafes, retail stores, offices, and restaurants. By the time you graduate, you’ll have a professional portfolio that showcases your talent and prepares you for a dynamic, evolving industry.

You’ll receive an accredited and internationally recognised qualification. This course is accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority, the Government’s national regulator for vocational education. RTO91446.
Our Diploma of Interior Design is recognised by the Design Institute of Australia, Australia’s peak industry body for professional design. This qualification can be credited towards the Adv Diploma of Interior Design.

What are the fees?
Total Course Fee: AUD $19,990 (GST free)
You can pay in monthly instalments via Ezidebit.
Note: You will also need to purchase a Design Kit AUD $660 (GST inc) prior to your course start date. This will be shipped free internationally. You will need to cover the cost of any GST, customs or duty that may be charged by your local authority. When you reach Unit 8 you will need to purchase a 12 month student subscription to SketchUp (AUD $99). Please allow AUD $50 per term for incidental costs eg. photocopying.
This course is VET Student Loan approved for eligible domestic applicants.
VET Student LoansEntry requirements
To study with us live online you will need a strong command of the English language (verbal, written and comprehension) and, if required by our team, be able to score at least 6 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test here or an equivalent.
If our team have concerns, we will be in contact with you by telephone to assess your English language proficiency, prior to an enrolment confirmation being sent. If your application is not successful due to your language ability your payment will be refunded in full.
What equipment do I need?
You will need a powerful laptop. We recommend students use a PC as this computer is compatible with all software used in the course. If you choose to use a Mac you will be using a different interface for AutoCAD and SketchUp. Your computer will need a dedicated graphics card.
Can I apply for credit?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the acknowledgement of a person’s competency, skills and knowledge which may have been acquired through formal, non-formal and/or informal learning.
Sydney Design School offers applicants the opportunity to apply for RPL and gain credit towards their course. There is a fee associated with an RPL application, please speak to our Course Advisor for more information.
Credit Transfer
Sydney Design School offers a Credit Transfer to any applicant who provides suitable evidence that they have successfully completed a unit or module at any Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

If you have your heart set on an interior architecture degree we now offer a pathway to university.
