You applied for an internship at Siren through the School how did that turn into a job?
I was lucky enough to be offered a 10 week internship. About half way through, I was asked to come in to the office a couple of extra days a week to help out with some extra projects they had on and then a few weeks before the internship was up, I was offered a full time job! I really learnt a lot in that short amount of time – everyone was so encouraging and helpful.

What do you love about being an Interior Designer?
Seeing your ideas and thoughts come to life! It’s a long process but the outcome is so rewarding.
What’s life like as an Interior Designer?
It’s scary and exciting all at the same time! I am just trying to soak up as much information as I can and learn from every opportunity! Siren is an amazing place to grow and learn – I feel incredibly lucky that I am able to work at such a well-respected design studio!
Tell us about your first project at Siren…
My first project was for a physiotherapy studio in Martin Place. I had a lot of responsibility placed on me from the get-go, and I am so thankful for it because I was able to learn so much and gain so much confidence. I was the first point of contact for this project and had one of our senior designer’s assisting me along the way to show me the ropes! The brief was that the space had to be high-end but with an edge, and pay respect to the heritage of the building. The result is amazing and the client is very happy! It was so exciting walking on site and seeing the design come to life right in front of me! I’ve still got to pinch myself.
